President Uhuru orders the Kenyan flag to be flown at half-mast in respect for President Pierre Nkurunziza, a Great son of Africa!

President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered that in memory of the late Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza, the Kenyan and EAC flags shall be flown at half-mast from dawn on Saturday until sunset on the day of his interment.
President Uhuru Kenyatta in his presidential proclamation reminded all east Africans, especially Kenyans to honor the life of late Burundi President called for solidarity with Brothers and Sisters and the whole of Africa who are in deep mourning of an Africa’s Great son.
“ To the People of the East African Community, IN HONOR OF THE LIFE of His Excellency the Late President Pierre Nkurunziza; and as a mark of the immense respect and esteem he was held in by the People of East Africa, Africa, and the entire World; and in recognition of his enormous contributions to advancing integration and prosperity of the EastAfrican Community (EAC); and in solidarity with our Brothers and Sisters in the Republic of Burundi, the wider EAC and the whole of Africa who are in deep mourning at the loss of a Great Son of Africa:
UHURU KENYATTA, under the authority vested in me as the President of the Republic of Kenya, do hereby ORDER and DIRECT:
THAT in memory of the Late President Pierre Nkurunziza, and in solemn solidarity and mourning; the Flag of the East African Community and the Flag of the Republic of Kenya shall be flown at half-mast at all Public Buildings and Public Grounds and wherever else throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Kenya and at all of Kenya’s Diplomatic Missions abroad; from dawn on Saturday, 13th June, 2020 until sunset on the day of his interment.”
Burundi officials who spoke to RegionWeek warmly received this mark of solidarity to the people of Burundi and call on other countries to do the same, noting that we are one people with one destiny.
The Republic of Cuba declares official mourning for the whole month of June
The Council of State of the Republic of Cuba took the lead this Thursday as the first foreign country to announce a 24h hours mourning season for the whole of June.
“On the death of the President of the Republic of Burundi, His Excellency Pierre Nkurunziza, the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba decided to declare official mourning”
During the period of official mourning, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in public buildings and military institutions throughout Cuban territory. “
“Con motivo del fallecimiento del Presidente de la República de Burundi, Excelentísimo Señor Pierre Nkurunziza, el Consejo de Estado de la República de Cuba ha decidido decretar Duelo Oficial durante 24 horas, desde las 00:00 horas del día 12 de junio hasta las 00:00 horas del día 13 del propio mes. Durante la vigencia del Duelo Oficial, la Bandera Nacional será izada a media asta en los edificios públicos e instituciones militares.” Reads the statement.
The Official Mourning is for 24 hours, from 00:00 on June 12 to 00: 00 hours on the 13th of the month itself.
